Imperial Optical Introduces Industry Leading One-Tier Pricing

Rouses Point, NY (ContentDesk) March 6, 2006 -- Imperial Optical, Inc., the largest independent contact lens distributor in North America, introduces its industry leading one-tier pricing structure.
This new pricing structure will give many independent eyecare practitioners the same price points that are generally reserved for practices with significantly higher contact lens purchase volumes.
The new pricing structure will go into effect March 15, 2006.Mr. Samir Gad, Imperial Opticals President and C.E.O., said, We made a business decision to level the playing field for independent optometrists who practice in smaller communities where they do not have the patient volume afforded those who practice in metropolitan areas.
We believe the traditional column pricing structure prevalent throughout the industry puts small independent practitioners at a competitive disadvantage.

With our new one-tier pricing structure, all eyecare practitioners, regardless of size or volume, get the same discount pricing we had previously offered only to our highest volume practices.Early feedback we have received regarding this pricing change has been very favorable, Gad continued.
In fact, we made the decision to look into a one-tier pricing structure based on the many conversations weve had with smaller independent optometrists.
Imperial Optical is committed to helping private practitioners be more competitive in a marketplace where large chain stores and Internet retailers with large purchasing power garner significant discounts and pass those savings on to their customers sometimes at prices below what an independent practitioner can buy the same product for.Our new pricing structure certainly does not make us the lowest-priced provider on the market, though we are close for many products.
It does, however, make Imperial Optical the first optical distributor to acknowledge the fact that the traditional column pricing structure based on sales volumes benefits large organizations at the expense of independent optometry.
We believe we can continue to grow our business while at the same time help the majority of independent optometrists in their pursuit of profitably growing their practices, Gad concluded. For more information, contact David Pearce, Director of Sales and Marketing, at 888-254-5367 or at e-mail protected from spam bots.

405nm Blue-Violet Laser Diode Modules with Modulated Output

Due to growing customer requirements, Photonic Products Ltd, the laser diode specialist, is adding 405nm (blue-violet) laser diode modules to its range of Photon Laser Modules. Designed as a complete laser diode system for OEMs, the 405nm laser modules are suitable for use in applications such as biomedical instrumentation, imaging, spectroscopy, fluorescence sensing, microscopy and many other emerging technologies. The compact and efficient 405nm laser modules produce either an elliptical output beam of 4 x 1.5mm with output power of 4mW, or a 2mm circular output beam with output power of 0.9mW.
The glass AR coated optical lens may be adjusted to produce either a collimated beam or focused spot. The standard lens may be replaced by other optical systems such as line generators. The laser is extremely stable and reliable and offers the added advantage of TTL modulation input which will accept signals from DC up to 1 kHz minimum.
TTL modulation can be used to enable, inhibit...

Play It Safe in the Sun--Wear Those Shades!

As you rub in the sunscreen to protect your skin this summer, don't forget sunglasses to protect your eyes. With the thinning ozone layer, it's not just skin cancer you have to worry about. Your eyes are vulnerable to the effects of Ultra Violet (UV) rays as well. This same radiation that damages skin can also increase your risk of developing eye problems, such as cataracts--a clouding of the eye's lens which develops over years. Sunglasses are no longer a simple fashion accessory but a health conscious necessity.

Sunglasses are a vital, and often under-appreciated part of eye care in the outdoor environment. Legend has it that sunglasses originated in China and were created by tinting glass lenses with smoke from open fires. As far back as the fifteenth century, Chinese judges wore these tinted lenses so as not to reveal partiality when examining evidence place before them. However, sunglasses really came into their own during World War II, when fighter pilots made good use of...

Electrophysics? Expands Options for High-End Surveillance With the SunStar 600?

For demanding situations, high-end surveillance systems require more than just average low-light CCD cameras to provide nighttime images. When security is critical, facilities will rely on their systems to perform above par, no matter what the lighting conditions may be.
The Electrophysics SunStar 600 is an ultra-low light camera that incorporates a high-performance CCD, featuring advanced on-chip signal processing.
When integrated with surveillance systems, the SunStar 600 will assure that low-light and nighttime conditions will never be vulnerability. Imaging in near total darkness is now as practical as ever, as the SunStar 600 features an ultra-low light sensitivity of 0.00001 lux.

The on-chip amplifier overcomes the fundamental noise limitations of traditional on-chip charge to voltage conversion and off-chip video amplification stages.
The camera converts photons to charge in the image area during the integration time period, then transfers the...
